Zwölferkogel circular trail - Schattberg circular trail - Asitzkopf - Panorama trail Saalbach
On the local heritage trail around the Zwölferkogel you will learn interesting facts about the development of Saalbach. Start at the middle station of the Zwölferkogel cable car. Ideally suited for families, take a detour to one of the beautiful reservoir ponds via route 8 before marching downhill along well-maintained forest roads to the Ellmaualm. The trail then continues to Hinterglemm via the Schwarzachergraben.
Start at the mountain station of the Schattberg Nord cable car, via the Marxenscharte to the Samersattel and the Saalbachkogel. Then continue via the Seetörl and return to Schattberg Ost via the Pinzgau walk.
Walking time: 5 hours, difficulty: medium
The starting point of this fantastic hike is the Kohlmaisbahn mountain station in Saalbach; from here you hike to the Wildenkarkogel along the Saalachtaler Höhenweg. Via Schönleiten you reach the summit of the Asitzkopf. You can get back to the Kohlmaisbahn middle station by following the forest path after the Schönleiten hut and walking over the Thurneralm.
